Alexander Turnbull Library
The Alexander Turnbull Library has an extensive collection of photographs and documents related to yachting in New Zealand. Below is a selection of catalogued material which has not been digitised or fully described by them.
Nicholas Reid was a senior partner of A&W Turnbull and co., and acted as a mentor to Alexander H. Turnbull when he joined the company as a young man. They became very close, and enjoyed yachting together during the 1890s and early 1900s. The subjects of this collections are Arawa Sailing Club and the Thorndon Dinghy Sailing Club.
Charles Lindsay was a taxidermist by training and worked for the Dominion Museum. He was an active member of the Evans Bay Yacht and Motor Boating Club during the 1920s and 30s in particular.
William Platis was a crewman with the yacht Ngaira at the turn of the 20th century
