These images are supplied by David Fisher, son of Bill Fisher, who built Ruawaka with his brother in Grafton Road, Roseneath after returning from WWII service.
Ruawaka was built to a design by Archie Scott, who adapted it from a British design. This adaption was made when it was realised that the kauri stock delivered could built a vessel six feet longer than the design. Plans were made to build Ruawaka before the war, but construction didn't begin until after it.

Impudence
The crew of Impudence, a 14 footer designed and launched by Clive and Harry Highet in 1933. In 1937/37 she competed in the Australian 14 footer championship, where she came second. The Auckland entry (Vamp) won, and it is interesting to note that the NZ entrants were designed as planing vessels to be fast off the wind, while the Austrailans opted for stability and displacement for on the wind sailing
