Tony Farr Collection
Tony Farr was a club captain and commodore of the the EBYMBC during the 1950s. He raced the zeddie Aroha, then two Idle Alongs which he built named Horizon and Daring. He and his business partner Dave Waters are thought to be the first to import an aqualung to NZ, and he won the bet to be first to try it out. Farr is also credited with using the first trapeze in Wellington: He was getting third and fourth in club racing and when he saw one in an American magazine he copied it. He won his race, but the next week he said all the top crews were using them and he was back to third and fourth again!
