This collection is from an album cut up and each image sold separately over time by a second-hand shop in Paraparaumu. Some images are now owned by Gavin Pasoce, some by Harold Kidd. They are seperated below.

The album belonged to a man named Fowke - likely to be E. H. Fowke, who was a member of the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club during the 1930s. He crewed on board the Queen Charlotte, and was perhaps owner or part owner of Miru.

He was a member of the "Frolics", a social group of younger members active in the EBYMBC and RPNYC during the 1930s.

The images of Miru show her converted from a half-rater to a keeler - re-shaped aft (counter perhaps docked?), a couple of planks added, cuddy cabin built, and a big lump of iron or lead for the keel. This work was one before WWI.

One of the "Frolics" bit of fun - a papier-mache whale makes an appearance at Clyde Quay for the RPNYC open day 1937. It was built over a dinghy powered by an outboard
